About UNM Hillel

Hillel at UNM offers a variety of activities for Jewish undergraduates, graduate students, and young professionals in the comfortable, home-like atmosphere of the Aaron David Bram Hillel House, located on the UNM campus. We are supported by the Jewish Federation of New Mexico and by generous donations from community members.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, our activities included:

  • Shabbat evening services and home-cooked kosher Shabbat meals with vegetarian and gluten-free options

  • MitzVote campus-wide voting party to get out the vote

  • Volunteering at local food bank Storehouse NM

  • Night of Peace interfaith dinner and fundraising event for a hospital in Yemen

  • Challah braiding lessons

  • Hamentaschen baking

  • Saturday night Havdallah

  • Tu B’Shvat seder

  • Hanukkah party

  • Pool party at the JCC

  • Ice cream social

  • Movie night

  • Puppy therapy

  • Free donuts, bagels, and coffee during finals week

  • BYOB Purim Trivia Night with ABQ Tribe, the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of New Mexico

  • Wine and cheese night with ABQ Tribe

  • Lectures and cultural events on the UNM campus

  • Interfaith and intercultural Shabbat dinners

  • Mid-week pizza and discussion nights
